Managing Director of Black McCuskey and Coordinator of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, Bruce Soares has over 30 years of legal experience in handling complex, multi-faceted commercial and corporate transactional matters for Fortune 500 companies, commercial real estate development companies, health care facilities, energy-related businesses and financial institutions. He regularly negotiates contracts for business development and expansion projects involving land acquisition, lending, tax abatements and incentives, zoning variances, construction oversight and outsourcing of equipment and services throughout the United States. Bruce has successfully negotiated lease agreements in most major international markets. Private equity investors, closely-held businesses and entrepreneurs counsel with Bruce to evaluate the risks and strategies associated with asset and stock acquisitions, and contract development for all phases of residential and commercial real estate projects.
A member of the Stark County and Ohio State Bar Associations, Bruce has been admitted to practice in both the State of Ohio and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Bruce has also been invited to become a Fellow of the Ohio State Bar Foundation, Class of 1998. He is recognized by his peers as one of the preeminent lawyers in his field, having received an AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell* and for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© 2008 to 2017. In addition, he has been recognized as an Ohio Super Lawyer for 2015 and 2016.
An active volunteer in the community, Bruce currently serves as a board member of the Stark Development Board, the Jackson Township Student Loan Association, and the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce. He is a past board member of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Canton, Inc.
