Jason (Jay) Deeds has practiced law in Tuscarawas County for over 20 years. Jay was a partner in the firm Hanhart, Deeds & Bauer, which merged with Black, McCuskey in 1999. Jay is a member of the firm’s Business, Estates & Trusts, Labor & Employment, Health Care and Real Estate Practice Groups.

He devotes a substantial portion of his practice to Business, Estate Planning and Real Property matters. Prior to attending Ohio Northern University’s college of Law, Jay earned a Bachelors degree from Denison University where he was active in a fraternity, sports, student judicial counsel and a variety of other organizations. Jay is a member of the Tuscarawas county and Ohio State Bar Associations.

Active in the Tuscarawas County community, Jay is a trustee of the Tuscarawas County Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) and Union Hospital (Chairman 2012 - 2014). He is a past member of the Tuscarawas County YMCA Board of Directors and Board of Trustees (Chairman 2010). Jay also volunteers for the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges. Additionally, he has served on the boards of the Dover Schools Education Foundation, the Tuscarawas Philharmonic and United Way (Campaign Chairman and Board President). Jay is a member and past President of the Dover Rotary Club.
