Black McCuskey Welcomes Attorney Taryn A. Douglas

Black McCuskey pleased to announce that Taryn A. Douglas has joined the firm as an Associate Attorney. She focuses her practice in the areas of Litigation, Business, Municipal Law, and Real Estate.
“We are pleased to have Taryn join the Black McCuskey team,” said Bruce Soares, Managing Partner. “As a young lawyer she has extraordinary experience in litigation, and she will be a significant addition to the firm’s litigation practice group.”

Prior to joining the firm, Taryn served as an Assistant Prosecutor for the City of Canton, where she managed a full docket and caseload of criminal misdemeanor and other matters within the City of Canton and its jurisdiction. She has first chair jury trial experience and has represented the City in drafting appellate briefs and arguing before the Court of Appeals. Before relocating to Stark County, Taryn was an associate attorney in a general civil litigation practice in Auglaize County, Ohio.
While attending Ohio Northern University College of Law, Taryn served as an Editor for the Ohio Northern Law Review. She was a member of the American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Team, placing as a semifinalist in the Philadelphia Regional competition in 2016, and tutored international LL.M. students in writing. Honors included The Order of the Barristers and Champion of the Burke E. Smith Trial Competition in 2015. Additionally, Taryn received a certificate for her coursework in civil litigation during her time at Ohio Northern.
Prior to attending law school, Taryn obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the Ohio State University. She was a member of Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society and named Outstanding Student of Philosophy.
Taryn is a Stark County native, currently residing in Perry Township. Taryn serves on the Board of Power of the Pen, and she is a member of the Stark County Bar Association.
