Arnold Shifman has practiced law in Stark County for over 40 years, devoting a substantial portion of his practice to real estate law and related title matters. At Black McCuskey, Arnold has a litigation practice that is devoted to real estate matters, including quiet-title actions, forfeiture procedures and foreclosure actions. In his real estate practice, Arnold is proficient in the preparation of Commercial and Residential Real Estate Contracts, Options, Rights of First Refusal, Easements and Rights of Way, Land Contracts, Commercial and Residential Leases, notes and mortgages. A portion of his practice is also devoted to estate planning and probate matters, including the preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney and Intervivos and Testamentary Trusts, along with Insurance Funded Trusts and Generation Skipping Trusts. Arnold is recognized by his peers as one of the preeminent lawyers in his field, having received an AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell*.
Arnold is the past President of American Title Associates Agency, Inc., a title insurance agency and subsidiary of Black McCuskey. He has lectured extensively on matters of real estate law and title insurance. He is a licensed title insurance agent with Ohio Department of Insurance.
Arnold earned both his undergraduate and law degree from The Ohio State University and is a member of the Stark County Bar Association, where for many years he chaired the Real Estate Committee. He is a former Executive Committee member of the Stark County Bar Association and a member of the Ohio State Bar Association. Arnold is Special Legal Counsel for the Canton Chapter of Habitat for Humanity and a member of the Ohio Land Title Association. He has donated many hours to Habitat for Humanity of Stark & Carroll Counties, Inc. by providing for their real estate and other legal services.
