Patrick has worked primarily in prosecution of patents in the electrical and mechanical arts, and the support of litigation in software matters.
A graduate of the University of Akron School of Law, Patrick also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Technology from the University of Akron and a Master of Science degree in Physics from Kent State University. While attending law school, he worked as a patent agent for several law firms, prosecuting utility and design patents and conducting prior art searches.
Prior to law school, he had an extensive engineering career that primarily related to liquid crystal display technology and the development of consumer electronics products for Motorola, Dell, and Samsung. Patrick became a patent agent in 2012 while employed at Intellectual Ventures. During his tenure there, Patrick became experienced in patent licensing, acquisition, searching and evaluation. He is a named inventor on nine US patents.
Patrick is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Stark County Bar Association. Additionally, he is a member of CIPLA (Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association), and SID (Society for Information Display). He serves as Councilman for Hills and Dales Village.
