Ryan is an associate with Black McCuskey and focuses his practice in the areas of business, litigation, real estate, construction, zoning, and labor & employment law. A significant portion of Ryan’s practice is devoted to counseling individuals and businesses in regard to contract drafting, commercial and residential real estate acquisitions matters, and substantive labor and employment issues. Additionally, Ryan assists individual and corporate clients in the fields of litigation, collections, and construction law. He has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America©: Ones to Watch for 2021 in Corporate Law.
A cum laude graduate of the University of Akron School of Law, Ryan served as the Executive Treasurer and Acting President of the Akron Law Student Bar Association. Ryan also served as an Assistant Editor and Production Editor for the Akron Law Review. He received CALI Excellence Awards for the highest “A” in Legal Analysis, Research, and Writing, and Constitutional Law.
While in law school, Ryan gained practical legal experience working for the national jewelry retailer, Signet Jewelers. At Signet Jewelers, Ryan developed skills in contract drafting and review, corporate compliance, and commercial-real-estate lease negotiation. Following his time at Signet Jewelers, Ryan worked as a summer associate for Black McCuskey as part of the firm’s Summer Associate Program.
Prior to attending the University of Akron School of Law, Ryan obtained his bachelor’s degree in economics at the University of Akron. He graduated cum laude and completed the University of Akron Honors Program. In his undergraduate career, Ryan gained practical experience interning for the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office and the Finance and Budgeting Department of the Summit County Executive’s Office.
Ryan is a Summit County native and currently resides in Stark County. Ryan is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Stark County Bar Association, where he participates as a member of the Young Lawyers Committee. Ryan looks forward to making an active commitment to the Stark County community.
