COVID-19 Impact on Ohio Employers

The State of Ohio has implemented several changes to the Unemployment Compensation system as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

  • The one week waiting period has been waived.

Most employer’s unemployment charges will be charged to a mutual account, not to the employer’s account.

COVID-19 affected claimants will not have to actively seek work while receiving benefits.
