January 14, 2025

Black McCuskey is pleased to announce that ten attorneys have been recognized by Super Lawyers. Attorneys Gust Callas (labor & employment), Joel K. Dayton (creditor debtor rights), Ryan A. Kuchmaner (estate & probate), Brian R. Mertes (labor & employment), Randolph L. Snow (general litigation), and James M. Wherley, II (civil litigation: defense) have been named by Ohio Super Lawyers magazine as top attorneys in Ohio for 2025. This is an exclusive list, recognizing no more than five percent of attorneys in Ohio.

Additionally, attorneys Taryn A. Douglas (labor & employment), Zachary A. Hawks (intellectual property), Rod A. Moore (business/corporate), and Whitney L. Willits (civil litigation: defense), were each named an Ohio Rising Star for 2025. Every year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor. To be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less.
“We are excited to have ten attorneys recognized for 2025 by Super Lawyers,” said Brian Mertes, Managing Partner. “We congratulate each of them and appreciate their dedication to serving our clients and the continued success of our firm.”
