Supreme Court Ruling Affects Arbitration Agreements Between Employers & Employees

Recently, the Supreme Court ruled that Arbitration Agreements entered into by employers and employees are enforceable.  As a result, employees are prohibited from filing lawsuits in court regarding violations of federal laws on wages, hours, or civil rights.  The Court also ruled that Arbitration Agreements can prohibit class actions (i.e., each employee must file his or her own individual arbitration).  This decision has significant impact for employers and employees.  Please contact us about updating your employment agreements.
